WTH Are Superfoods, Anyway?

You’ve likely heard the term “superfood,” but what does that really mean?

Superfoods are “functional foods” because of their ability to affect more target functions of the body than just those that aid basic survival.
​​​​​​​
Superfoods contain the following key elements: clean protein & amino acids, vitamins & minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, good healthy fats, essential fatty acids, and phytochemicals. 
​​​​​​​
So why do we want to eat them daily?
​​​​​​​
They are some of the most vibrant and nutritionally dense foods on the planet! The body can’t possibly get every nutrient it needs from a single food source, so we need to consume a variety of nutrient-rich foods throughout the day.

The advantage of eating superfoods versus other foods is that, they will have more nutrients per volume, per bite, than you would eating some other regular foods, which is hypernourishing to our bodies!

Superfoods are often referred to as nature’s medicine. I’d have to agree. We are more aware of the toxins in our food and environment… so wherever we have a choice, we will definitely choose our health.
